Thus a subject in making a choice was projecting his inner drives, strivings and needs (Szondi believed was at basis gene set.). Normal and abnormal outcomes come from the articulation of internal drives and external inhibitions and encouragement, in concert with the various forms of learning, imitation, imagination and developed ideas.

When a factor is lacking its opposing 'other half' it then has too much influence and its innate strivings push or pull for satisfaction. In test this missing facor is labeled as a '0', zero or null.
The logic offered, is that such a person who would make this type of filtering choices, in the Szondi test, has the same attitudes, preferences and behaviors that would match such characteristics that others have that make the same choices.
This is the place where the objection to the Szondi Test as being unscientific, can properly raised, and its validity questioned. It is also the place were you should test every concept against your own knowledge and take for yourself the parts you believe to be useful for you.
The decision in the end is left to each student as to the validity issues as each and every concept is offered for critique.
In those selection showing unitendency, especially those with choices of more than 3 of the six possible [h] or [s] photos, it will be become immediately apparent that the psychogram emerging may no longer fit the expected role that their anatomical gender is stereotyped with. In both men and women, the sudden appearance of [h-s0] in a decimal set can be seen as transitional to a psycho-gender stance change and a shift to intellectual modes as solutions or defenses.
